Deliver the news
It’s natural to be nervous at this point, but just remember, it’ll be over quickly and once it’s done you can start getting excited about your new job! Keep reminding yourself of the reasons you’re making the move.
✔ Be direct but polite
“I’ve decided to move on from my position” is a good start.
✔ Thank them for the opportunity
Even if it wasn’t perfect, it’s good to leave things on good terms, if possible.
✔ Keep details minimal
You don’t need to give a lengthy explanation. Less is more.
✔ Submit Your Resignation Letter
You can either hand over your resignation letter during the meeting or tell your boss you’ll email it over to them afterwards. Here is a handy resignation letter template.
