Throughout 2023, the Synergy team are putting ourselves through our paces. We’re doing six challenges to raise money for The Christie to support people with cancer throughout the region and across the UK.
From half-marathons to the more extreme, we’re putting ourselves to the test with a series of challenges designed to raise funds and awareness for The Christie – a charity close to everyone at Synergy Recruitment.
Around the North West, you’d be hard pressed to find someone that The Christie hasn’t helped, either directly or indirectly, through the care and support they provide to both patients and to the families of people with cancer.
Our team have personal connections to The Christie, following the hospital’s care for our parents. We’re committed to doing everything we can to support the amazing work that they do and to hopefully help many other people in similar situations.
The first Synergy Challenge for the Christie will involve Marie taking on the Wilmslow Half Marathon on the 26th of March, pushing herself to run further and harder than she has before to raise money. Marie’s commitment to The Christie comes from her personal experience, following the charity’s treatment of her mother a decade ago.
Marie, a Co-Founder and Director at Synergy Recruitment, said “I’m really looking forward to completing the Wilmslow Half Marathon, both as a personal challenge and knowing that my efforts are going to help people and families throughout the UK.
“Everyone at Synergy Recruitment is excited to be taking on the challenges throughout the year and helping to support such a worthwhile cause”.
On the 16th of April, Yasmin – also a Co-Founder and Director at Synergy – will be taking on the Manchester Marathon for the next Synergy Recruitment challenge in support of the charity. With training well underway, Yasmin’s excited to put herself to the test while raising money for The Christie.
Yasmin said, “Like everyone in this part of the world, The Christie has a very special place in my heart. They helped my dad through his bowel cancer diagnosis and throughout treatment, and to be able to do whatever I can to help them continue to make a difference is amazing.”
The Christie is an outstanding trust, and the largest single cancer treatment centre in Europe, supporting and treating over 60,000 patients per year. Through the challenges that the Synergy Recruitment team will take on this year, we’re hoping to raise as much money as possible to support their work.
